Drone Pilots

Posted

Griff Aviation, based in Sykkylven, develops and manufactures heavy-lift drones capable of carrying payloads between 30 and 60 kg. We are currently in a phase of rapidly scaling production to meet strong demand within defense, rescue operations, and critical logistics.

We are now strengthening our team with four reliable UAV Test Pilots who will play a key role in testing, customer demonstrations, and service missions worldwide. As a pilot with us, you will join a company in rapid growth, with ambitions to significantly increase production and establish a dedicated pilot unit for professional testing and customer demonstrations.

Responsibilities and Tasks

As a pilot at Griff Aviation, you do more than operate controls. You will be an integral part of the technical team and gain deep insight into how our drones are built. This role requires technical knowledge, practical skills, and a problem-solving mindset to ensure our UAVs deliver top performance.

Relevant responsibilities include:

  • Operating our drones safely and efficiently for testing, demonstrations, and customer missions
  • Performing pre-flight inspections, mission planning, and post-flight analysis to maintain optimal performance
  • Assisting in production, assembly, and disassembly of drones using your technical expertise
  • Carrying out service missions for customers, troubleshooting and optimizing drone systems on-site or remotely
  • Collaborating with engineers to improve designs and adapt solutions for industrial applications such as heavy lifting or aerial inspection
  • Ensuring compliance with Norwegian and international aviation regulations

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with strong technical aptitude who is fully focused when on the job. You have a natural ability to work systematically and understand that good planning is key to safe operations. You are likely someone who not only enjoys flying, but is also driven to understand exactly how the technology works.

We value your ability to make ongoing risk assessments. If an incident occurs, you know how to respond and remain calm. You are structured in your preparation and follow checklists precisely. In addition, you are attentive, provide clear feedback to the team, and contribute to continuous learning and improvement.

We expect that you:

  • Have completed and passed A1/A3 and STS certifications (an advantage, but not a strict requirement, as this can be completed later)
  • Have experience operating multirotor drones, fixed-wing aircraft, and/or helicopters, preferably in industrial or technical environments
  • Have a solid technical background with experience in mechanical systems, electronics, or similar hands-on work
  • Are able to act professionally in customer-facing situations under varying conditions
